Terms and Conditions for the Department of Social Development TV App
Welcome to the Department of Social Development TV app (referred to as “DSDtv”), an OTT (over-the-top) application that organizes and packages participating South African government department audiovisual content. By using the DSDtv app, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions:
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the DSDtv app, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, including any additional guidelines and future modifications. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the DSDtv app.
2. Use of the App
The DSDtv app is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You may access and utilize the app to stream video and audio content on your smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and other mobile devices for personal enjoyment only.
3. Content Availability
The DSDtv app provides access to government department audiovisual content, but availability may vary depending on the participating departments and their content distribution. The app does not guarantee the availability of specific content and may change or remove content without notice.
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password to access the DSDtv app. You agree to notify the DSDtv immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the DSDtv app for any unlawful purpose or engage in any conduct that violates the rights of others, including but not limited to copyright infringement, unauthorized distribution of content, or any activity that is harmful, offensive, or disruptive to the app or other users.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
All content and materials provided through the DSDtv app, including audiovisual content, logos, trademarks, and branding, are the intellectual property of the South African government or the respective content owners. You agree not to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any content without explicit authorization.
7. Privacy Policy
Your use of the DSDtv app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, use, and disclose information about you. By using the app, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The DSDtv app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, including but not limited to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the content. The app does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access to the content.
9. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the Department of Social Development or its affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the DSDtv app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Changes to Terms and Conditions
The Department of Social Development reserves the right to update or revise these terms and conditions at any time. Your continued use of the DSDtv app after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms and conditions.
11. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any dispute arising from the use of the DSDtv app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in South Africa.
